The Mirror 14 Story
 The Fairey Albacore:

It is always assumed that this is another boat from the Uffa Fox list of designs. It may well have started out as such, but the story 'behind' the Albacore is more complex. For the detailed answer, one has to look to a group of member from Locks Sailing Club, at Eastney.

This club is situated at the entrance to Langstone Harbour, where some experienced sailors say the currents and conditions match and at times even exceed that at Hayling Island, which is a short distance away to the East.

Certainly a boat with sound sea keeping qualities was needed, a brief the Albacore was well suited to meet.

Grateful thanks are given to Bill Tremlett and his family for their helping in recovering this film.

There is a strong posibility that Albacore Number 1 still exists and may still be in a sailable condition.
