The beautifully built boat that was number 1001. If more boats had been built to this specification, then maybe the class would still be with us today.

The middle picture, showing the cockpit layout, give a good view of the flooding side tanks.

From the chain plates after to the thwart, the side tank had been partioned and was completely sealed off from the other tanks. IN the event of a capisze, this tank flooded through the opening that can bee seen in the panel. This allowed the boat to easily settle down onto it's side, preventing inversion and making for an easier recovery. There was a similar sized hole cut in the panel that allowed the flooded tank to drain out onto the cockpit floor (straight out into the self bailer) on righting.

The rig is as per modern dinghy thinking of the time: full width traveller for the main, fore and aft adjustment for the genoa.

Many thanks to builder and owner Dave Whittock for sending in yet another picture, then time showing a birds eye view of the well thought out layout!
